Join Our Lab

Dr. Beebe is currently looking for new volunteers!

We run our lab with volunteers. We usually have about a dozen volunteers from various schools around the city. A volunteer position in our lab is ideal for students who are between college and graduate school, who are interested in research experience, and who want to get into a PhD program in clinical or developmental psychology. It is also ideal for MA students if they can meet our schedule.

The volunteer externship in this lab provides students with the opportunity to be trained in split-screen filming of mother-infant interaction, frame-by-frame analysis of film, and audio microanalysis of speech rhythms. Students are also trained in the administration of the Adult Attachment Interview. Externs will receive weekly individual supervision with Dr. Beebe, attend monthly teaching sessions, and have the opportunity to attend conference presentations. The lab requires a two-year commitment. It runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, with an opportunity for additional hours working on a follow-up study of young adults who were filmed in the lab three decades ago as infants.

A 2-year commitment is essential, because we need the continuity. Please think carefully about whether this is right for you.
Our lab runs on Tuesdays from 10am to 6pm and Thursdays from 10am to 6pm. We are looking for people who can give two full days.

For more information, please read these documents for potential volunteers.

Please fill out the form below if you are interested in applying to one of our volunteer positions.
